Grace Gardner’s new single “Smaller” came out today! Grace is a twenty-three-year- old Philadelphia based artist. They have been putting out music since 2022 but posting TikTok’s of them singing since late 2020. The up an coming single,"Smaller," is about them finding their way out of narcissistic abuse. Gardner’s beautiful lyricism tells the story of who they have/will become due to the abuse they have faced in both a physical and metaphorical sense. Gardner delivers the opening lyrics with such softness that perfectly conveys their emotions:“Hunched over in the bathroom with the light off, letting anger project from my throat.” The usage of such gentle acoustics with their layered harmonies are more than ethereal.“I'm smaller than I ever wanted to be.” This song is not to let out their anger; it is to make peace and show that they no longer feel less than, and that they are the bigger person. “I hope something breaks you down and you look at your world now gone like you made it to be.” Gardner is more than a beautiful singer they are an amazing storyteller. I am excited to watch them continue to grow and for whatever projects they have coming our way.
